DESCRIPTION:In celebration of International Women’s Day\, we are honoured to invite you to The Power of Women in Conflict Resolution\, a conversation that aims to shed light on the pivotal role women play in peacebuilding and conflict resolution. \nThe event will feature a panel discussion with the Ambassadors of Chile\, South Africa\, and Ukraine. \n​According to the last data by the United Nations\, over 600 million women and girls lived in conflict-affected countries in 2022\, a 50% increase since 2017.​ Despite bearing the brunt of violent conflicts\, women’s representation in peace processes remains disproportionately low. In 2022\, women constituted only 16% of negotiators in active peace processes led or co-led by the UN\, a decline from previous years.​ This underrepresentation persists even though inclusive peace processes are more likely to result in lasting ​peace agreements. \n​Join this conversation where we will share what women’s nature brings to conflict resolution.
