Marriott International and Singapore Airlines Group last Wednesday announced that they have expanded their strategic partnership to boost their member benefits, including for ambassador members.
Members of US-based Marriot International’s travel programme, Marriott Bonvoy, and SIA’s lifestyle rewards programme, KrisFlyer, will benefit from a status match. This will open avenues for an accelerated pathway to attain higher elite status within the programs.
The development builds upon the existing collaboration, introduced in January 2023, facilitating a two-way transfer of points and miles between the two loyalty programs
“This is a significant milestone that not only marks the extension of our global airline programme but also reaffirms our commitment to continuously enhance our approach to customer loyalty,” said John Toomey, chief sales & marketing officer of Asia Pacific excluding China of Marriot International.
The expanded partnership comes at a time when international travel demand is on the up, SAI Acting Senior Vice President Marketing Planning Dai Haoyu pointed out.
“This comes at an opportune time amid the strong demand for international travel. With this enhancement, our members can look forward to better value, as well as more accrual and redemption opportunities that match their evolving lifestyle interests,” Haoyu said.
Key features of the enhanced benefits include a status match, where Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members receive a status match to Marriott Bonvoy Gold, while Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members receive a status match to the KrisFlyer Elite Silver tier.
Looking at the specifics, Marriott Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador members will receive a status match to the KrisFlyer Elite Silver tier.
Meanwhile, Solitaire PPS Club, PPS Club, and KrisFlyer Elite Gold members will receive a status match to Marriott Bonvoy Gold.
Marriott Bonvoy Elite status benefits might include room upgrades, late check-outs, bonus points, welcome gifts, among others, SIA And Marriott International said in a press release.
On SIA’s side, KrisFlyer Elite status benefits might include bonus miles, complimentary seat selection for customers flying with Singapore Airlines, complimentary lounge access, priority check-in and boarding, additional baggage allowance, and more.
