Fresh off the success of the recent ASEAN + BRICS AI roundtable, Diplomatic Network (Asia) was thrilled to host a wonderful monthly networking lunch on 25th September.

DNA was proud to welcome the guest of honour, His Excellency Darius Gaidys, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania.

Additionally, the event was hosted by DNA member Jeremy Choong, Founder and CSTO of Jayvoxx Technology. Also in attendance were the wonderful Mr Ong Hanjie of EU Holidays, Mr Justin Chia of the Four Seasons Hotel and Mr Felipe Espinosa of the Latin American Chamber of Commerce.

The event was held at the opulent and hospitable Lawry’s The Prime Rib, located at 333A Orchard Rd. Living up to their reputation as one of the best luxury dining rooms in Singapore, Lawry’s provided an intimate setting to discuss lively topics over a succulent meal.

Lithuanian Connections

HE Gaidys spoke about the various Lithuanian companies present in Singapore, ranging across a wide and diverse range of industries from aerospace and manufacturing, to education and technology.

HE Gaidys was especially enthusiastic about the potential partnerships between Lithuanian and Singaporean companies in the digital economy and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Additionally, Lithuanian tourism was discussed during the lunch, with HE Gaidys noting that the Baltic States are an accessible location for value-for-money multi-country trips. Travellers to the region can easily move between Lithuania and its neighbouring countries, including Latvia, Estonia, Finland, and possibly even Poland.

Discussing Trade

During lunch, the guests had the opportunity to discuss their respective businesses and their contributions to fostering strong multilateral trade.

Mr Han of EU Holidays discussed the extensive coverage of global destinations that his company provides for travellers.

Additionally, Mr Han is also an active member of several industry associations, including the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry and the Association for Singapore Small and Medium Enterprises. Mr Han also serves as the Head of Public Relations (Western) Division for the One Belt One Road Investment Initiative Association in Henan, China.

Mr Choong’s business activities include running an AI accelerator program that invests in AI startups and a newly formed biotech company that creates personalised medicine.

Mr Chia specialises in hosting foreign delegates at the Four Seasons Hotel, and strives to develop a hospitable environment in his hotel that would cater to different foreign missions.

Speaking about the current climate of trade and the shift towards a multi-polar world, the guests at the dinner were united in their shared respect for strong international relationships. In turn, greater trade partnerships across nations would provide opportunities for businesses to prosper in this new political environment.
