The Peruvian Embassy in Singapore celebrated Peru’s 203rd Independence Day on Thursday with a busy event.
The event, held at the Sofitel Sentosa, was graciously hosted by the Peruvian Ambassador to Singapore, His Excellency Francisco Tenya Hasegawa.
The evening brought together a diverse group of attendees, including diplomats, expatriates, and friends of Peru.
Ambassador Hasegawa, in his address, emphasized the importance of multilateral initiatives like APEC and the Pacific Alliance and expressed his commitment to strengthening bilateral ties with Singapore. He also highlighted the shared value of biodiversity between the two nations.
The guest of honor, Senior Minister of State for Sustainability & the Environment and of the Ministry of Transport, Amy Khor, thanked Ambassador Hasegawa for the invitation and emphasized the importance of celebrating such milestones together.
Guests were treated to an array of authentic Peruvian dishes and drinks, including the renowned ceviche and the national cocktail, pisco sour. The evening was further enlivened by musical performances featuring Peruvian waltz played with indigenous flutes and traditional dances, creating a festive atmosphere filled with South American sounds and tunes.
The celebration highlighted the cultural ties and growing cooperation between Peru and Singapore, reflecting a deepening relationship based on shared values and mutual interests.
The festive evening underscored the importance of cultural exchange and collaboration, setting the stage for better relations and strengthened bonds between the two nations and guests who joined the festivities.
