Diplomats and officials gathered in Singapore on Tuesday to celebrate the Saudi national day, highlighting expanding trade ties and cooperation between the two nations.

The Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Singapore’s national day celebration saw diplomats, government officials and members of the public flock to the ballroom of the Shangri-La Singapore.

The event was led by His Excellency Abdullah AlMadhi, the ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Singapore.

The highlights of the Saudi head of mission revolved around the longstanding relations between both nations.

Trade and investments between the two nations have flourished in recent years, culminating in a visit between Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Industry & Mineral Resources, Bandar Alkhorayef, and Singapore’s Minister for Manpower and Second Minister for Trade & Industry, Tan See Leng, in early September.

During the meeting, held at Singapore’s Ministry of Trade and Industry, Minister Alkhorayef showcased the capabilities of Saudi Arabia’s industrial and mineral sectors. He proposed the creation of joint working groups to foster greater industrial collaboration, with the goal of strengthening ties between Saudi Arabia and Singapore.

The event saw a notable gathering of diplomats and members of the Arab community in Singapore, who enjoyed an array of authentic dishes that were well-received by the distinguished attendees.

Saudi Arabia’s national day is celebrated on September 23 each year. It marks the anniversary of the founding of the modern Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in 1932 by King Abdulaziz Al Saud.

On this day, King Abdulaziz united the various regions, including the Kingdoms of Nejd and Hejaz, into a single nation under the name “Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”
