On Tuesday, April 10, Diplomatic Network (Asia) hosted its first networking breakfast at five-star hotel Intercontinental Singapore.

The occasion marked an important milestone for DNA‘s media-networking platform: the start of a new era for interactive communication between the foreign Diplomatic Corp accredited in Singapore and the city-state’s business community.

Our guests of honour for the event included Peruvian ambassador to Singapore His Excellency Carlos Vasquez, who is also the dean of Group of Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as Her Excellency Sarah McGrath, who is the Irish ambassador.

Also present were Assistant Director of International Relations of Singapore Tourism Board Christina Chan; Personal Wealth Manager Heny Chen, who works at insurance company AIA Group; and Soo Chye Lee, who is a partner at legal firm Wee Swee Teow LLP.

Our distinguished guests had the opportunity to discuss many interesting topics, including some of the cultural experiences that both heads of missions have had in Singapore as well as those still on their bucket lists.

This gave the attendees the opportunity to plan future activities between diplomats and DNA members, such as a hawker food tour, amongst others.

Our first networking breakfast proved to be an excellent setting for interactions between the sectors represented during the event. We look forward to hosting many more of these productive gatherings.
