Diplomatic Network (Asia)’s October edition of the DNA networking breakfast featured His Excellency Marek Zalewski, the current Vatican Ambassador to Singapore and Vietnam.
The event was held at the Breakfast Room of the Intercontinental Singapore.
Highlights of October’s DNA networking breakfast
Archbishop Zalewski, in his capacity as the Vatican’s ambassador, shed light on the historical and diplomatic intricacies that have led to the Holy See’s status as an internationally recognized state. The Vatican, situated in Rome, Italy, is a globally renowned destination, attracting not only Catholics but also tourists from various religious backgrounds.
The Vatican is presided over by the Apostolic Pope, who is appointed through a succession process involving the Council of Cardinals. His Excellency Archbishop Zalewski has been serving in this role in Singapore for the past five years and anticipates potential changes, as is customary in diplomatic careers, pertaining to his future endeavours in Asia.
Another notable guest at the DNA’s October breakfast was His Excellency Mauricio Nine, the ambassador of the Republic of Argentina, who, as a Catholic, displayed a keen interest in Archbishop Zalewski’s discourse on the historical and functional aspects of the Vatican within the sovereign state of Italy.
From the private sector
Among the attendees from the private sector were Dorys Fierro, executive director of the Mexican Chamber of Commerce; Alastair Lee, director of the Associate division at ERA-Real Estate; and Lim Jun Hao, relationship manager in Financial Advisory at Synergy Financial Advisers.

DNA membership
The distinguished guests were introduced to the rationale behind DNA’s networking concept and encouraged to consider becoming members from next year. This opportunity is perceived as a means to access new markets and foster enduring relationships.
The heads of missions acknowledged the value of a media-networking platform that consistently aids in addressing the requirements and aspirations of their respective diplomatic missions.
