Hungarian culture will take center stage in Singapore this October with the launch of Hungarian Month: The Spice of Europe, a month-long celebration organized by the Embassy of Hungary in Singapore.
The event will offer a range of cultural, culinary, and artistic experiences, showcasing Hungary’s rich heritage to local and international audiences.
Line up
The highlight of the festivities is the Hungarian Fair, scheduled for Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Capitol Piazza.
The fair will run from 10h00 SGT to 17h00 SGT and will feature traditional Hungarian food, live music performances, and displays of arts and crafts. The fair is designed to appeal to visitors of all ages, offering an immersive experience into Hungary’s unique culture.
Throughout the month, a variety of activities will be held across Singapore. Local venues will feature specially curated Hungarian menus, while the Serangoon Gardens Country Club will offer unique Hungarian dishes.
A cocktail evening will showcase Tokaj Gin, a signature spirit from Hungary. Other significant events include an official Rubik’s Cube competition, reflecting Hungary’s role in global innovation, and a fashion show that will highlight Hungarian design. A tree-planting ceremony will be held as a symbol of Hungary’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
Additionally, Hungarian Month will also celebrate the country’s scientific achievements, contributing to global knowledge in various fields.
Fostering bilateral relations
This cultural initiative underscores the ongoing efforts of the Embassy of Hungary to foster strong bilateral relations between Hungary and Singapore.
