With a spirit of camaraderie and celebration, Diplomatic Network (Asia) brought together distinguished guests for the annual DNA Christmas event.
The lunch was hosted at Edge Restaurant, Pan Pacific Singapore, and brought together diplomats and DNA members in the spirit of sharing and joy that the occasion deserves.
Distinguished guests
Melvin Lim from Pan Pacific Singapore and DNA member Soo Chye Lee from Oaks Legal presided over the gathering on behalf of DNA.
Joining them were heads of mission, including His Excellency Allaster Cox from Australia; Her Excellency Sarah McGrath from Ireland; and His Excellency Medardo G. Macaraig, the Philippine ambassador to Singapore. Mexico was represented by its Press Attache, Ciro Perez Silva. Other DNA members in attendance included Stewarts Solution’s Michael Lian and private member, Oscar Brito.
Insights
The attendees shared their insights and reflections with the group. Ambassador McGrath highlighted how there is much to learn from Singapore’s approach to housing where the focus from the outset is as much about building communities as providing housing. “People do business in places they are familiar with,” she added, underscoring the importance of strong international relationships.
Meanwhile, the Philippine ambassador shared updates about their new embassy, which is currently under construction. “Memories are good, but we must start making new ones,” he remarked, emphasizing the need to look forward while building on the past.
Guests enjoyed the sumptuous buffet spread at Edge, complemented by the warm hospitality of Pan Pacific Singapore’s General Manager, Melvin Lim, who was accompanied by Loo Chooi Li, a hotel manager. The event was further elevated by wine from the South African Wine Cellar, which added a festive touch.
