With a blend of Cuban cigar ambiance and Japanese delicacies, Diplomatic Network (Asia) hosted its latest monthly lunch at Intercontinental Singapore on Wednesday.
The luncheon was held at Chikuyotei restaurant, located within the Intercontinental Singapore.
Guests of honor
The diplomatic guests of honor included Austrian Ambassador His Excellency Peter Guschelbauer; Cuban Head of Mission HE Lisbet Quesada; and Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner in Singapore, HE Sumadhurika Sashkala Premawardhane.
The event was led by DNA member and Singaporean attorney Soo Chye Lee. Also present were other DNA members, such as insurance advisor Heny Chen; Chai Ping from Four Seasons Singapore, representing the South African Chamber of Commerce; Simon Bernie; and Chikuyotei’s chef-owner, Nakakita Yoshihiko.
Ambassador Quesada graciously shared samples of her country’s signature cigars with the attendees, offering insights into the manufacturing process. This piqued the interest of other guests, particularly Four Seasons’ Chai Ping, leading to discussions about organizing a potential cigar event at the hotel in the near future.
As always, the food was the star of the afternoon. The distinguished guests had the opportunity to savor specially crafted Japanese dishes by Chef Yoshihiko, complemented by exceptional wines from the South African Cellar.
