The United States of America celebrate Independence Day on Tuesday in commemoration of their collective journey towards freedom and the enduring spirit of their nation.

Every July 4, Americans worldwide unite under a vibrant tapestry of red, white, and blue to celebrate their Independence Day.

On this day in 1776, the thirteen American colonies declared their independence from British rule when the Declaration of Independence was inked.

The Declaration of Independence was signed by 56 delegates from the thirteen American colonies. These delegates represented their respective colonies and played a pivotal role in proclaiming the United States’ separation from British rule.

For Americans, Independence Day is a time to reflect on the foundational principles that define their nation. The notion of freedom, deeply ingrained in the American psyche, encompasses not only political liberty but also the pursuit of happiness, equal opportunity, and the right to self-determination.

In Singapore, the American Association of Singapore held a special event, sponsored by Singapore American School, to commemorate the occasion last Friday at Bay East Bridge in the Bay East Garden. The event included live Dixieland music, carnival games, bouncy castles and crafts.

We, at Diplomatic Network (Asia), will be chowing down on some American-style hotdogs in celebration of Independence Day. DNA wishes all Americans a happy Independence Day.
