Hyatt Hotels Corp has opened a 202-room hotel in the heart of Johor Bahru, the Malaysian city which borders Singapore, in close proximity to the airport as well as other amenities.

The newly opened Hyatt Place Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall marks the debut of the Hyatt Place brand in Johor Bahru.

For the travelling diplomat abroad, the new hotel’s location offers a host of synergies.

One notable aspect of the Hyatt Place Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall is its attachment to Paradigm Mall, the largest shopping mall in the city. The hotel is conveniently situated, being just a 15-minute drive from Senai International Airport, a 20-minute drive to Tuas Checkpoint in Singapore, and a 25-minute drive to Woodlands Checkpoint in Singapore.

“Johor Bahru is a vibrant city, filled with friendly people, great neighborhoods, and an ever-expanding list of great places to visit and things to do or see,” said the hotel’s general manager, Sean Yoon, on Monday in a release.

“Our hotel is central to all of them, and we are confident that the Hyatt Place Johor Bahru Paradigm Mall will exceed guest expectations and provide them with everything they need while visiting our area.”

In addition to its closeness to key transportation hubs, the hotel is also close to popular attractions, including Legoland Malaysia, Johor Premium Outlets, and the recently constructed Stadium Sultan Ibrahim, which serves as the home ground for the Johor Southern Tigers football team.

For Hyatt, the location is strategic as it expands its footprint within one of the fastest growing regions in the world, Southeast Asia.

The hotel is owned by WCT Hartanah Jaya Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of property development firm WCT Holdings Berhad.

The hotel is made up of 202 guestrooms with “separate spaces to sleep, work and play, as well as a cozy corner sofa-sleeper”. There are large event spaces for rent as well.

The hotel boasts an “intuitive design, casual atmosphere and practical amenities, such as free Wi-Fi and 24/7 offerings”, Hyatt said.
