The Embassy of Peru in Singapore, in collaboration with the exclusive Mandala Club and Chef Santiago Fernandez from the Peruvian restaurant Buenazo in Bangkok, hosted the Ceviche & Pisco Fiesta, a celebration of Peruvian gastronomy in Singapore.
The event, hosted at L1 The Canvas in Singapore in November, exceeded initial expectations and sold out completely. The Ceviche & Pisco Fiesta offered the local audience a unique culinary experience through a specially designed tasting menu, featuring iconic dishes such as ceviche, crab causa, anticucho-style octopus, beef seco, and suspiro a la limena.
As part of efforts to promote pisco in Singapore, each guest enjoyed a complimentary cocktail, with a choice between the classic pisco sour and the refreshing chilcano de pisco. Pisco is a type of brandy, a distilled spirit made from fermented grape juice.
During the evening, Chef Santiago Fernandez shared his professional journey and insights into the creation of the menu, enhancing the guests’ knowledge and appreciation of Peruvian cuisine.
The event was part of ongoing efforts to position Peruvian cuisine as a gastronomic benchmark in Asia while increasing demand for pisco in international markets.
